Graveside services for Alan C Burris, 61, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday, April 16, 2020, at the Byers Cemetery in the Center Grove community of Jackson County, TN. There will be no visitation or services at the funeral home. He passed away on Monday, April 13, 2020, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born June 9, 1958, in Fort Riley, Kansas, to the late Otha Donald Burris and Dorothy Nell Alcorn Burris. He worked as a security guard at Walden Security, and was a member of the Center Grove Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Grandparents: CL Burroughs and Doyle Burroughs; Clyde Alcorn and Flora Bell Quarles Alcorn. Survivors include 1 Brother: Rellon (Michelle) Burris of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Sister: Sherrie Merwine of Gainesboro, TN; Aunts: Essie (Roy) Young and Lois Burroughs; Nieces: Elizabeth Peterson, Kendra Burris, and Andrea Burris; Nephews: Dakota Burris and Andrew Burris; Great Nieces: Katlyn Peterson and Chloe Peterson; Great Nephew: Gavin Peterson; and many cousins and other family. Bro. John Mabry will officiate at the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Byers Cemetery by contacting the funeral home.
