Adell Ragland

Adell Ragland, age 84, passed away July 10, 2013 at the home of her daughter, Elaine Ragland Pennington, in Old Hickory, TN, with her loving family by her side. Adell was born in Granville, TN in 1929. She married the late Ezell Ragland in 1947. Together they owned and operated Lakeside Bait Shop in Granville, TN. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, quilting, and spending time with friends and family. She was very kind and loving; she always greeted guests with a hug and a smile. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Nannie Wade; husband, Ezell Ragland; infant son Tommy; daughter Patricia; 2 brothers: Benton Wade and Verbal Wade; and 6 Sisters: Clio Wade, Ruby Harris, Victoria Dixon, Nolia Case, Elizabeth Fisher, and Nell Case. Surviving relatives include daughter, Elaine Pennington and son-in-law Gary; granddaughter, April Graves and husband Alex; great-grandson, Grayson Graves; a special niece, Minnie Clemons; along with many other nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Adell will be held at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow at the Granville Cemetery. Relatives and friends are welcome to join us for services and at graveside. Funeral services will be Sunday, July 14, 2013 at 2 P.M. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1 P.M. - 9 P.M., and on Sunday from 12 Noon until time of services. Pallbearers: District Attorney Edwin Sadler, Judge Bill Higgins, Chris Boswell, Steve Jackson, Ronnie West, Tommy McElanahan, and Roy Henson. Brother Jimmy Anderson will officiate at the services.
